Groups of up to 4-6 students
The number of students in a group depends on the children’s level and age
- For preschoolers ages 5-6-7 groups available up to 4-5 students: in this age group the teacher also takes on an educational role, and children’s concentration is better kept in small groups.
- For schoolchildren 7+ years old groups of up to 6 students.

Program for 1-2 years
From scratch to the 3rd category for general development
0-300 Beginner16 lessons (2 months, twice a week). By the end of the course the student confidently delivers a simple mate in one move and knows the value of the pieces. Knows and uses the unusual chess moves: castling and “en passant” capture.
300-700 Elementary (ready to take part in tournaments)40 lessons (5 months, twice a week). The student knows and can deliver mate in two moves. The pieces develop harmoniously on the board. Knows the tactical motifs: fork, pin, skewer, mating net, discovered attack.
700-1000 Basic56 lessons (7 months, twice a week). Understands what tactics are and calculates the opponent’s moves. Knows and uses: perpetual check, decoy, deflection, discovered attack, blockade, a difficult mate in two and piece sacrifices.
1000-1300 Advanced96 lessons (12 months, twice a week). Confidently knows the tactical motifs: fork, pin, skewer, mating net, discovered attack, perpetual check, decoy, deflection, blockade, a difficult mate in two and piece sacrifices, back-rank and open-file weaknesses. Starts studying openings.
1300-1600 4th–3rd category150 lessons (18 months, twice a week). Knows the common openings, endgame principles, bishop and knight endings, basic rook endings; can evaluate a position and attack the king. Starts studying world champions’ games. For general development and confident play a child needs to study regularly for more than a year.
Program for ages 2-7
From the 3rd category to FIDE Candidate Master
1600-2000 2nd–1st category200 hours (2 years, two or three lessons a week). Students analyse world champions’ games, study traps in various openings, the main strategies, space advantage, and queen and rook endings.
2000-2200 FIDE Candidate Master
From 400 to 700 hours (4-7 years, two or three times a week). This is already a serious step into the big world of chess. By then the student is a real player: they understand strategy and tactics in positional play, calculation of variations and decision-making methods, prophylactic thinking — countering the opponent’s plans, thinking in schemes, regrouping of forces, and detailed analysis of openings and middlegames.
